This year, it is planned to launch the PocketQube picosatellite into space via SpaceX carrier rocket. The project is being implemented as part of the Azerbaijani National Satellite Innovation Competition for students in grades 7-9, with organizational support from PASHA Holding, COSMIC Academy under Azercosmos, and with the assistance of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, Innovation and Digital Development Agency, Agency for Preschool and General Education under the Ministry of Science and Education, Education Institute, Brazilian Space Agency, and Brazil's IDEIA Space company.
The SpaceX rideshare program allows several small satellites from different clients to be launched into orbit in a single mission. Additionally, SpaceX's highly reliable launch platform will ensure the safe deployment of the PocketQube satellite into orbit, supporting the successful achievement of the project's technical and scientific goals.
This initiative highlights the integration of Azerbaijani students into international space technologies, the importance of advanced technologies in education, and the significance of enhancing digital literacy among students. Moreover, the project inspires youth to establish new partnerships at national and international levels, as well as to apply theoretical knowledge within the framework of complex practical projects.
It is worth noting that PASHA Holding places particular emphasis on the development of innovation and support for the innovative ecosystem in the country. In this direction, the holding organizes the INMerge Innovation Summit and the PASHA Hackathon, as well as supports local incubation and acceleration centers. Additionally, PASHA Holding has contributed to the establishment of the first venture fund in the country, as well as the Holberton School and the Cybersecurity School.
