Azerbaijan Rural Women's Association (AKQA) has started the process of training women's group mentors in order to support the creation of new women's groups in regions. Mentors selected from among experienced women's group leaders will be extensively instructed on the "Women's Self-Help Group" model, as well as learn ways to promote best practices on creating collective women's businesses, integrating women into society, social responsibility, and more.

The next meeting regarding mentor training was held with Konul Sadygova, the chairman of "Dafna" Women's Development and Enterprise Group operating in Boyat village of Agjabedi region. The advantages and peculiarities of the "Women's Self-Help Group" model, which is considered the basis of women's group mentoring, were discussed at the meeting with the participation of Heyran Alishzadeh, a member of "Dafna" Women's Group.

The meeting was held within the framework of the "Smart women create smart communities: Digital empowerment, leadership and networking" initiative implemented by AKQA LLC in the framework of the "Development of Innovation-Based and Sustainable Civil Society in Azerbaijan" project funded by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Program.
