The leading corporate financial institution of the country "PASHA Bank" is holding a conference called "Climate Finance in Azerbaijan: Ways of sustainable economic development".
The event held in Baku on October 23 is dedicated to the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties in the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29). The conference focused on the importance of climate finance issues in the context of national priorities for socio-economic development of Azerbaijan until 2030.
In addition, the positive impact of climate finance on business and challenges, the role of the regulator in stimulating climate finance through macroeconomic challenges, cooperation between the government, banks and private sector of the economy, legal instruments that support and stimulate climate finance in Azerbaijan and other issues are the main topics of the event.
It should be noted that "PASHA Bank" became a member of the UN Global Compact in 2023. The Bank's "Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy for 2024-2026" is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of that global initiative. Among those SDGs, the field of "fighting against climate change" has a special place, and the Bank intends to expand its activities in this direction during the current strategic period.
