On May 21, an event called "Transition to net zero emissions: formation of business models for a sustainable future" was held in Baku with the partnership of the leading corporate financial institution of Azerbaijan "PASHA Bank" and the international strategic research center "Bloomberg NEF".
State institutions, members of Azerbaijan Banks Association, representatives of foreign chambers of commerce in the country, officials and clients of "PASHA Bank", representatives of "PASHA Holding" and other guests took part in the event.
According to Bahruz Nagiyev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of PASHA Bank, who participated in the opening of the conference, this event, held on the eve of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), will focus on decarbonization strategies of various sectors, new energy types in developing markets. it is a perfect opportunity to discuss transition and other relevant topics.
It should be noted that the country's leading corporate financial institution "PASHA Bank" became a member of the "UN Global Compact" in 2023. The Bank's "Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy for 2024-2026" is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of that global initiative. Among those SDGs, the field of "Combating climate change" occupies a special place, and the Bank intends to expand its activities in this direction during the current strategic period.
