"GreenTech II" Startup and Green Technologies Competition has been organized in Ganja

On April 17, 2025, the “GreenTech II” Startup and Green Technologies Competition was held at the Azerbaijan Technological University in Ganja, jointly organized by the Youth Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Innovation and Digital Development Agency and Azerbaijan Technological University.
The purpose of the competition was to support the development of an incubation environment for technological innovations and green technologies in Azerbaijan, as well as to identify innovative activities aimed at protecting the environment with the participation of young people. 80 teams from 30 higher education institutions of the republic competed in the competition.
Speaking at the official opening of the event, Rector of the Azerbaijan Technological University Yashar Omarov, Acting Executive Director of the Youth Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan Gadir Khalilov, and Member of Parliament Parvin Karimzadeh emphasized that the competition has a positive impact on the formation of an ecological mindset and increasing the sense of ecological responsibility among young people, on getting to know the startup ecosystem better, on developing their own business ideas, and on developing them as entrepreneurs of the future. It was also noted that such initiatives provide an opportunity for young people to put their theoretical knowledge into practice and instill teamwork skills.
More than 100 young people competed in the competition for I, II, III and incentive places in 4 categories: “Digital Ecology”, “Robotics”, “Green Transport Technologies” and “Social Innovations for Sustainable Development”.
The competition cups were won by the teams “Smart Hydro Camp” of Baku State University, “Sky Bi” of Karabakh University, “Smart X” of the National Aviation Academy, and “Meta Yeast” of the Baku Higher Oil School, respectively.
The winners of the second place were the teams “Lubre en” of ADA University, “Robo bin” of the University of Architecture and Construction, “City Mobility” of Azerbaijan Technical University, and “Drone Flux” of the National Aviation Academy.
The teams “Uvita” of Khazar University, “Energella” of Nakhchivan State University, “BHOSs” of Baku Higher Oil School, and “Tech Titans” of Baku State University were awarded the third place.
The teams “GreenS park/Flame Guard” of Mingachevir State University, “Doma Tech” of Western Caspian University, “Liquid3” of Ganja State University, and “Natural Disaster Relief” of Azerbaijan State Agrarian University were awarded the encouraging places.
The winning teams were awarded certificates and valuable gifts.
It should be noted that the competition was organized with the sponsorship of “Coca-Cola”, “Lenovo”, Sahliyali, “Baku Electronics”, “AZGRANATA” and “ATS Food”.
