"Green Mountain" action was organized in "ASAN service"

On May 21, the 6th "Green Mountain" ecological-social action was organized in Salyan regional "ASAN service" center.

According to the information provided by the public relations department of the State Agency for Service to Citizens and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the event within the framework of the "Green World Solidarity Year" related to the "Green ASAN" program was an initiative of ASAN volunteers, and held with the support of the Ministry of Science and Education, Salyan Region Executive Authority, "Azersun Holding" and Azerbaijan Paper and Cardboard Production Combine.

The aim is to support tree protection, nature conservation and ecological balance by promoting the recycling of paper waste.

Ulvi Mehdiyev, chairman of the State Agency for Citizen Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Sevindik Hatamov, head of the Salyan Region Executive Authority, public representatives of various regions and other guests took part in the event.

The action included the presentation of "Green Mountain" made from more than 150 tons of paper waste. Handicrafts made by ASAN volunteers and schoolchildren from waste, a culture corner were displayed, and various musical performances were also played.

Also, the winners of 3 nominations of the "Idea competition" were awarded and letters of thanks were presented to various institutions.

Citizens, schools, administrations and organizations from more than 30 cities and regions of Azerbaijan joined the sixth ecological and social action "Green Mountain".

More than 2,000 tons of paper waste have been sent for recycling within the framework of the program, which has been operating for nine years. With this, more than 34 thousand trees were prevented from being cut down. Also, more than 400 environmental projects, more than 100 cleaning and tree planting actions were held.
