Closing ceremony of the "Art Academy of children of martyrs" project was held

On March 17, 2025, the closing ceremony of the "Art Academy of children of martyrs" project, implemented by "Zafar" Support for Martyrs' Families Public Union with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, was held at the International Mugham Center.
Before the event, an exhibition of handiwork by members of the academy's painting group was organized in the lobby of the International Mugham Center.
Officials, art figures, martyrs' families and media representatives attended the closing ceremony of the academy. Delivering the opening speech, Sevinj Alizadeh, Chairman of the "Zafar" Public Union, emphasized that the goal of the project is to contribute to the development of martyrs' children in the field of art: "This project is designed to reveal the creative potential of martyrs' children and support their integration into society."
Deputy Minister of Culture Saadat Yusifova noted that the knowledge and skills gained by the academy participants will have a significant impact on their future development.
Konul Huseynova, director of Central School of Arts named after Gara Garayev, a doctor of philosophy in art history, and wife of Lieutenant Colonel Rashad Atakishiyev, touched upon the emotional aspects of the project and said: "This academy is not only art, but also an initiative that sheds light on the spiritual world of the children of martyrs."
After the speeches, a video clip reflecting the progress and results of the project was shown.
After the official part, the event continued with an artistic part consisting of performances by well-known figures of art in Azerbaijan and members of the academy's musical group. Duets by People's Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan Fidan Hajiyeva, as well as Honored Artists Tayyar Bayramov, Ilkin Ahmadov and Agshin Abdullayev with the children of martyrs who are members of the academy were greeted with applause by the event participants.
During the event, the "We are the children of heroes" choir also performed the song "Vətən övladları" ("Children of Motherland").
At the end of the ceremony, an award ceremony was held for the children of martyrs who successfully graduated from the academy.
It should be noted that within the framework of the three-month-long "Art Academy of children of martyrs" project, the participants attended classes at the Central School of Arts named after Gara Garayev, conducted by professional instructors - artist Nigar Shikhaliyeva and vocal teacher Regina Majidova.
