"Box for newborn girls" project was implemented in Khachmaz

The Social Support Center under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population implemented the "Box for newborn girls" project in Khachmaz region in order to prevent gender-based sex selection.

According to the information provided by the Public Relations Department of the Ministry, within the framework of the project, 30 families with newborn girls in the region (in August of the current year) were presented with a box containing baby supplies, hygiene products, a set of clothes, educational instructions on child care.

The goal is to stimulate the prevention of gender selection of children before birth, and to provide support to families where female children are born.

Before that, the project was successfully implemented in Shamakhi, Tovuz, Masalli, Tartar, Sabirabad, Gusar, Salyan, Bilasuvar and Agsu regions. The project is planned to be implemented in other regions in stages.
