A meeting was held with journalists who participated in the project "Increasing the awareness of media representatives in the field of mining"

On January 13, 2025, a meeting was held with journalists involved in the project "Increasing the awareness of media representatives in the field of mining" organized by "AzerGold" CJSC and supported by the Media Development Agency (MEDIA).

Zakir Ibrahimov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Joint Stock Company, Ahmet Ismayilov, Executive Director of MEDIA, and journalists representing online media entities took part in the meeting held at the head office of "AzerGold" CJSC.

Speaking at the event, Zakir Ibrahimov pointed out that the state pays great attention to the development of the national press, and as a result of effective work carried out in the direction of training specialists in the field of media and stimulating their activities, our media has entered a new stage of development.

Noting that "AzerGold" CJSC, which organizes its activities on the basis of local legislation and progressive international practice, principles of transparency, accountability, information openness, attaches importance to the development of relations with the press, Zakir Ibrahimov noted that the Joint Stock Company's Communication Strategy for 2024-2026 has been prepared and approved; one of the main SMART goals of the document is to strengthen cooperation with local media and increase the awareness of journalists in the field of mining.

It was specially emphasized that the meeting with the journalists who participated in the training and mediation within the project coincided with the 150th anniversary of the establishment of our National Press.

The Executive Director of MEDIA, Ahmet Ismayilov, highly appreciated the initiative of "AzerGold" CJSC to increase the awareness of journalists in the field of mining, and pointed out that such projects serve the continuous progress of 150-year-old Azerbaijani journalism, the development of journalism field.

The executive director said that the training and media tour organized in Ganja and Dashkasan within the framework of the project were remembered with positive results in increasing the awareness of media representatives in the field of mining, and it was one of the important steps in the direction of specialization of journalists in the field.

Later, the media representatives, who shared their impressions about the training and mediation, highly appreciated the project and characterized it as one of the important initiatives in the direction of the development of field journalism.

After the speeches, certificates and souvenirs were presented to the journalists who successfully participated in the training and mediation.

It should be noted that a two-day visit of a group of journalists working in online media to the city of Ganja and Dashkasan region was organized on December 19-20, 2024 within the framework of the project "Increasing the awareness of media representatives in the field of mining".

Within the framework of the visit, the journalists acquired new information about the geological exploration, production, processing, organization of the sale of precious metals carried out in metal ore fields, as well as environmental protection and corporate social responsibility activities carried out in the mining regions, in Chovdar Integrated Regional Processing Area, which they visited, as well as they got acquainted with the work done in the social field.

Also, within the framework of the project, test tasks were carried out before and after the training in order to measure the level of awareness of journalists about mining.
